The demonstration version of the Aspect Property Manager is a full working property management program but with some restrictions which are removed when the installation is registered. Converting the demonstration version into a live version is merely a matter of registering your downloaded system, parting with a little bit of money, then entering the activation password.
You may register the Aspect Property Manager on-line by performing the steps below or manually. The registration procedure can also be found in the Property Manager Help file.
Before attempting to register on-line, set up the SMTP server details first, using the generalised steps below to locate and enter them into the Aspect Property Manager. These steps will vary with the versions of Windows, Internet Explorer, or other browser you use, as well as any other site specific considerations. Your firewall may also need changing to allow access to the internet.
Outlook
In Outlook go to Tools menu > Email Accounts > View or change email accounts
Select the usual / default email account
Click Change
Locate the name of the outgoing SMTP email server
This will usually be in a format like smtp.xtra.co.nz
Write down or copy the server address to the clipboard
Skip to "Entering the server address" below.
Outlook Express
In Outlook Express go to Tools menu > Accounts > Mail tab
Select the usual / default email account
Click Properties > Servers tab
Locate the name of the outgoing SMTP email server
This will usually be in a format like smtp.xtra.co.nz
Write down or copy the server address to the clipboard
Skip to "Entering the server address" below.
Entering the server address
In the Aspect Property Manager go to Setup menu > Preferences > Email tab
Paste or enter the SMPT server address into the "Host Name" field
For the present leave the other entries as they are.
If you are using a non-Microsoft email or browser program settings similar to those discussed above will be present "somewhere". Locate the SMTP server address and enter that into the Host Name field.
If these steps do not work contact Aspect Systems.
Once the SMTP server address is in place go to the Setup menu > Company Details > Address Details tabbed page and complete all the details required down to and including the EMail field. The Country, State and Company number fields are not required when installed in New Zealand.
Close back to the main screen then select Help menu > Register Aspect Property Manager. This will open a new email window with the details entered above in the message area.
Please add your name, position and email address where indicated. Do not make any changes to the generated Registration Details. If you notice any incorrect information, discard the email, return to the Company Setup screen and make any necessary corrections, then repeat the Help menu > Registration process.
If you fail to receive a confirmation email within one working day please follow up with a standard email or phone call.
If any error message appears during this email registration process your email and/or internet options may not be set correctly and/or your firewall may be stopping access. If you cannot correct the problem contact us by phone or email Aspect Systems supplying a landline number, your name and email address.
Register manually by phone or email Aspect Systems.
A Registration Form will be sent to you which should be returned to Aspect Systems when completed, along with a copy of your Automatic Payment form and the initial rental payment required.
